I have installed latest 0.9.6 version
I see UI and backend has totally changed. lots of good work in version.
but have you removed authentication totally ?
I did fresh installation of clearbudget and I land to reports page with pie chart directly without login and I can even create categories, add transactions etc etc without login.
I am not sure whats wrong.

Hello Manish,
Authentication is still there but, as always, it defaults automaticaly to an open settings. You must go to the settings page and set your username/password in order to enable the authentication.
V0.9.7 is coming soon and will include an even better authentication scheme supporting multiuser (admin users and normal users) in order to be able to share the tool within a familly (like parents are admins, kids are normal users).

I did setup my user/passwd in settings. but other than this page I dont see login/logout anywhere in portal.

Did you also choose "Yes" in the "Secure access to the site" drop down box?
The "logout" button will appear only when you do a complete refresh of the page (hit the F5 key or the reload button of your browser) or when you will access the tool from a new browser session.
If that still does not work, please let us know because then it will look like a bug.

I tried even after deleting cookies , cache and reopening firefox. no authentication prompt at any point of navigation. and no logout option.

We've just tried out at the address you indicated and we successfully setup a username/password.
You will see by yourself by going there now (btw, your username is "test12" and your password is "test12"). I am not sure what you did earlier or what has changed in the meantime but it seems to me that it works as desired. Can you please try out once more and let us know?

What is the dafault admin password please?
I am trying to change into secure access and i do not recall any admin password set initially

There isn't any default password. You must provide the password of the currently login user. If you do not recall, maybe the best is the clean all your cookies (or use a different browser) and access clearbudget. Either you will be prompted for a username/password or you will be able to access the application where you then can define a new admin user.
